Pinner and Northwood Cheder
Pinner Synagogue houses a vibrant Cheder for children from the Pinner, Northwood and Ruislip
communities. The Cheder meets on Sunday
mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The head teacher is Rabbi Gavin Broder who
is also the London Jewish Student Chaplain. Under Rabbi Broder's inspiring
leadership, the Cheder aims to
impart Jewish knowledge to the children in a fun and instructive
manner.
Classes run for children from School
Years 1 to 8 and there is a new and exciting SPLASH programme for children in
Years 7 and 8 beginning in September 2007.

We are
delighted to announce the launch of the Pinner and Northwood SPLASH programme
starting in September 2007 at Pinner Synagogue. SPLASH stands for Sunday
Programme of Life After Cheder.
The programme
is designed for those children graduating from Year 6 of the Pinner and
Northwood Cheder and for any other children entering School Year 7.
SPLASH will
educate, stimulate and entertain the children. The programme will involve setting
the children a variety of challenges including aspects of Shabbat, Kashrut, Israel, Classic Jewish Texts, Mitzvot, Jewish History, Festivals, a Project, Services and Charity. It will follow the highly successful model used by both Bushey and
Stanmore Education Centres.
The programme
will commence on Sunday 9th September. The first term will run for
13 weeks, with the second and third terms each running for ten weeks.

SPLASH will
offer a refreshing and dynamic approach to learning. A variety of techniques
will be used in the programme - from interactive worksheets to drama to
discussions on relevant and topical issues.The programme works on the premise
that the group are developing into young adults and they are given a certain
degree of independence in their activities.
The cost of
the programme is £385 for the entire year, which we believe offers excellent
value. Payment terms will be explained following receipt of application forms.
