Book and Tape Library
Based in the Beit Midrash, Pinner Synagogue library has hundreds of books and tapes covering a large range of subjects available for short-term loan. Including Torah studies, Jewish history, cookery, easy reading and children's titles, the wide choice of reading, listening and research material should appeal to all. Comprehensive catalogues list all books and tapes and access to the library is easily arranged through the Synagogue office.
The tape library has blossomed from a modest start of about fifty tapes to the present seven hundred and is still growing. The tapes are located at the back of the Beit Midrash and may be borrowed by any member of the Synagogue without charge; all that is required is that you fill in the book so that we know who has borrowed which tape. If you travel to work by car or train, this is an excellent way to spend the journey. The tapes also make a very good companion while doing household chores. There is a catalogue of available tapes. Topics range from the sedra of the week to issues on Kashrut and festival observance, as well as Halachic perspectives on medical ethics and every other topic of interest to all Jews. There is also a complete set of tapes of an Encounter Conference, as well as many other public lectures.
The Rabbi welcomes suggestions for further topics and tapes and books can be donated in memory of loved ones.
