Pinner Care organises welfare support by volunteers, mainly to older members of the Shul. We have an answer machine service on 020 8429 2025, which is checked at least once a week. If Pinner Care cannot help we will try and refer on to the appropriate agency.
All of Pinner Care's volunteers are interviewed, police checked and offered ongoing training and support.
Pinner Care has approximately 15 volunteers who visit and befriend older members of the Shul. Our volunteers visit about once a month.
The Bereavement Support Group offers support to bereaved members of the community. There are about 12 volunteers and they meet monthly for support and to have a case discussion.
Pinner Care also organises a monthly Sunday afternoon tea, held in the home of a Shul member. Our volunteers will offer transport to those that require it.
Over the last two years we have held two Purim teas in the Shul hall. This year Moriah School provided a choir to entertain the participants, and the tea was a great success.
We welcome both referrals and offers from potential volunteers.
