Football

Pinner Jewish Football Club was formed back in 1986 by our Club President Stephen Sweden, who recognised the need within our community for people to participate in an observant manner.

As the principal Jewish Football Club within the area, we are a progressive and successful club and are constantly looking to grow and develop.  We operate a comprehensive Coaching Programme as we believe that this is an essential element of player development where we have experienced FA qualified Coaches working on our behalf.

The club's primary objective is to promote football to benefit those taking part and for the enjoyment of all.  Youth Teams are generally run by parent volunteers and cover a broad range of age groups.

This Season, we have our first Seniors Team which amongst other things is designed as an outlet for our older players to progress on to.

We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated people that run our administration and development programmes, which makes for a very contented membership.  The social involvement is also vitally important and is something that we strongly focus on too.

Once a year, the club holds its Annual Presentation Awards for players and their families.  Every player within the Youth Section who has participated in that season receives an award and for each playing team there are additional individual awards for achievement.  Committee members are recognised too.  Indeed, we acknowledge everyone as without our members, financial partners and helpers we would have no club.

We have also been awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard, which is a benchmark for quality for grassroots Clubs.  We also have close links with Watford Football Club via their Community and Education Sports Trust.

Last year and in conjunction with the partnership with our Club Sponsor ZED Homes, we set up a charitable link with a Kenyan Youth Football Club called Shooting Stars FC based near Mtwapa, North of Mombasa.

Shooting Stars like most local clubs have no kit and individuals play in their normal clothes. Trainers are rare and most play in bare feet. Hard to believe, but a ball is a luxury too.

Kenya, just like many of the other southern and eastern African countries, has been hard hit by the raging AIDS pandemic and many children have been left orphaned and neglected and receive little support from the state. Football is often their only outlet.

Through this link, Pinner JFC and Shooting Stars FC are keeping each other updated on their respective progress and we have been sending kit that we can no longer use to help the Kenyan club.
